Melina and I met about 12 + years ago when she was an art student studying painting and I was an English major. She still paints and I write supernatural fiction. We've been best friends and roommates ever since.
The main goal in our lives is to eventually support ourselves through our craft and writing / painting and live in the country (sigh). I started doing chainmaille a bit over a year ago because I really wanted to do something visually creative. I had tons of ideas and no outlet.
Melina has been sewing off and on since she was a child. Her mother is amazingly skilled and taught her everything she knows.
We always wanted to do some kind of business together and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When work had a Christmas craft sale (yes, we work together too!) it gave us all the motivation we needed to start.
I find a lot of inspiration for my jewelry pieces in my other passion: horror writing. Might seem weird but I spent a lot of time trying to find my 'blood drop' glass beads!
Melina says she finds her inspiration from her head, her mom and everything around her. She creeps people out by staring at their bags to figure out how she can make it better!
Melina's favorite piece so far is her reversible tote
My favorite piece is my vampire necklace.
