Featured Etsian~moodyandsanguine

Melina and I met about 12 + years ago when she was an art student studying painting and I was an English major. She still paints and I write supernatural fiction. We've been best friends and roommates ever since.

The main goal in our lives is to eventually support ourselves through our craft and writing / painting and live in the country (sigh). I started doing chainmaille a bit over a year ago because I really wanted to do something visually creative. I had tons of ideas and no outlet.

Melina has been sewing off and on since she was a child. Her mother is amazingly skilled and taught her everything she knows.

We always wanted to do some kind of business together and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When work had a Christmas craft sale (yes, we work together too!) it gave us all the motivation we needed to start.

I find a lot of inspiration for my jewelry pieces in my other passion: horror writing. Might seem weird but I spent a lot of time trying to find my 'blood drop' glass beads!

Melina says she finds her inspiration from her head, her mom and everything around her. She creeps people out by staring at their bags to figure out how she can make it better!

Melina's favorite piece so far is her reversible tote

My favorite piece is my vampire necklace.

Etsian Artist~ LoveandLust

BLOG GIVEAWAY IS ONE POST DOWN!

My name is 'LillyShayStyle' and I am a jewelry addict.
I am consumed with jewelry! I search quite often for exquisite pieces to add to my ever growing collection. And there are many talented creators out 'there'. But, LoveandLust has been one of the most unique shops that I've found, so far! Her classy jewelry is alluring and extraordinary, definitely OOAK!

This is the set I bought for myself!

I can't go anywhere without being stopped. I swear, I need my own 'LoveandLust' business cards to hand out!

When you shop at LoveandLust mention my name and receive 10% off your purchase!

I'm 25 and live in Florida with my boyfriend (NightmareAnthology) and our one kitty (in our hearts we still have two - we just put one down last weekend). I'm currently finishing up my Masters degree in general psychology and spend most of my time on campus either scrambling to get my thesis done on time or teaching undergraduate psychology courses.

I started making jewelry a few months ago (yes, it's only been months!) because I couldn't find anything in 'my style' in town. I have always wanted to make jewelry but never had the first clue how.
Over the years I have accumulated quite the collection of charms, beads and other things that caught my eye in craft stores but I had no idea how to use them! One day something in me just clicked and everything made sense! I literally have not stopped since that moment. I'm addicted!

I'm inspired by so many things on a daily basis. My cat passing has inspired me to create a beautiful piece in his memory, the ocean near my home has found it's way into some of my pieces, but mostly, it's the beautiful women that I see walking around town that truly inspire me. When I see a drop dead, confident, classic woman walk past I just stare in envy and run straight home to try and create something I could envision her wearing. It's not as crazy as it sounds, I promise!

I started selling first on my boyfriends shop mostly as a way to fund my supplies addiction! My pieces were well received so I finally broke down and started my own shop, LoveandLust.

My very favorite piece at the moment has to be the Wild Nights Cameo Necklace. I think it's the sexiest and most unique piece I've created to date and it truly illustrates both the love, and lust-worthy, sides of my style!

Etsian Artists featuring Twilight

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want an Edward...
My favorite quote from this movie is, "And the lion fell in love with the lamb.."
My favorite scene is their first class together, when he first looks at her. I love his eyes...
I think I have watched this movie 5 or 6 times in the week that I've owned it. I heard so much hype about it before buying it for myself.. I thought I'd hate it! But it's my new #1!
My awesome sister-in-law just bought be the book series, yay! I can't wait to find time to read them!
I think it's amazing how this story came about. The author had a dream and built the entire story around it. Quite incredible..
My Brand Spankin New Pretties For My Babies
Shaylynne is styling with her new pretties!
I couldn't capture Lilly sporting hers :(
I bought some silver bracelets for my little sweeties! ohhh I'm so thrilled with them! hehe
I had to show them off... My daughter, Lilly, calls them "pretties". She didn't want to take hers off. But she normally only wears her pretties for a little while before she decides it needs to come off. So my plan, this time is to have Shaylynne start wearing her pretties at a VERY young age. (She's 4 months old) So when she's like 2-3 years, she won't have any qualms about wearing pretties... :) I only wish I had thought about this for Lilly...
These were made by BrighidsForge.
I found that this store had the best price out of everyone who had answered my alchemy request.
Which was great for me, since the items would be worn by youngins.. I don't want to pay too much for jewelry that may end up lost, ya know? And the quality is great and the lettering is fantastic! Though I hope to have these until the girls are adults... The seller assured me that they are sturdy enough to have around for decades. So I have high hopes! :)
So, yay!
Featured Etsian~ thelostfound
My name is Maryann Peik and I have a vintage shop called The Lost and Found. and my blog.
I live in sunny San Diego, California and have a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls, ages 1 and 4. They keep my hands full during the day, but at night and in my spare time, I love to search thrift stores for great vintage finds!
I have always had a love for great vintage stuff! I love the styles of the 1940's and 50's. The day dresses, the hairstyles, the cute hats, the heels-- it was sexy, yet demure at the same time-- and I like that! I would definitly choose to live then if I had my choice. Times were tough back then, yet I feel there was a better sense of community which would be wonderful to experience.
I have loved and collected vintage for about 5 years now-- but I always had an interest in where a piece was from and if it had a history. Jewelry I really find interesting because you never know who has worn that special ring or brooch, or who gave it to them and why.
I haven't been selling all that long, just since February; but I feel I have done pretty well in my short time and hopefully the business continues to grow.
I love what I am doing- I get to buy great vintage stuff, and hope to make someones day with passing it on to them!
My favorite piece right now would have to be this vintage nightgown~~it is so pretty and soft! It has this beautiful black lace that adorns the neckline and it is just stunning!
I also wanted to let any of your blog readers know, that if they mention "lillyshaystyle" at purchase, I will refund back to them 10% of the price of any purchase from http://www.thelostfound.etsy.com/ !
My Fun Fun Snow Day with my Girl!
Fun Snow Days
We had about 16ish" today! I love snow (when we can play in it)
The weather wasn't bad either, it was the best snow fall of this year! I'd say it was in the high 30's (which isn't TOO cold in WY) Soo, I took Lilly sledding! It was a blast! The snow was so deep for her, it was really cute. You can't tell how deep the snow is here, she's light enough to lie on top of it... In the last photo you can see my snow ball bust on Lilly's back, haha!
We sledded down a huge hill, she didn't like that the snow got in her face :(
So we decided to throw snowballs at each other and make snow angles. She loves snow angles. We made a tiny snow man too!
Sadly, my hubby didn't take photos of us on the sled or the snowman.
And these are LONG ice cicles that were hanging outside my window, beautiful! They were probably around 2 feet long.
Baking Soda
Today I am going to share the many useful things that Baking Soda can be used for...
It's a wonderful 'green' cleaner, plus it's safe for human use and the environment.
I'd love to hear more uses, if you know any!
  1. Remove Tarnish from sliver: Mix a thick paste of B.S with weather, apply to the silver with a damp sponge, rub, rinse, and buff dry.
  2. Boost the strength of liquid laundry detergent: Add one-half cup of B.S, with the usual amount of detergent, to your regular wash.
  3. Clean a fiberglass bathtub or shower, stainless steel sink, tile, a microwave oven...
  4. Maintain your septic tank: Flush one cup of B.S down the toilet once a week. B.S helps maintain the proper pH and alkalinity, controlling sulfide odors.
  5. Deodorize cloth diapers: Mix one half B.S in two quarts of water, and soak diapers in solution.
  6. Deodorize a trash can: Sprinkle liberally with B.S
  7. Deodorize garbage disposal, sink drains, dishwasher, carpet, cat box, and food containers
  8. Soothe poison ivy rash, insect bites, sunburn, windburn, prickly heat, and tired feet
  9. Take a refreshing bath
  10. Brush your teeth and wash your mouth
  11. Use as deodorant
  12. Remove crayon marks from walls or wallpaper
  13. Remove conditioner and styling gel buildup from hair
  14. Refresh stuffed animals
  15. Clean baby bottles, nipples, and bottle brushes
  16. Whiten socks and dirty clothes, boost bleach
  17. Clean chrome bumpers and hubcaps
  18. Degrease and clean barbecue grills
Etsy Hands
I have always been captivated by hands... Why? I don't know. I collect various hand sculptures and photos. I've always wanted to decorated my walls with hand fixtures, such as lamps, shelves, hangers...etc. I've found an online store that sells these kinds of things, but I wonder if it would end up being more creepy than what I planned. Maybe someday...
So in the spirit of my obsession for hands, here are some engrossing pieces that I'd like to share!
