This is the most delicious soap I've ever laid eyes on. I could not possibly bring myself to use soap this delectable. Could you? No.
This soap would be destined to sit upon my shelf for all to see. Never to be used. This is the kind of artful soap that belongs in a kitchen, begging to be eaten by unsuspecting guests.

May have to place a sign next to eat, "Do NOT eat"

Maybe even a great April Fools Joke...Ideas for next year..hmm

The ice cream soap is my absolute favorite.

Once upon a time in a high school creative cooking class a young girl fell in love with decorating cakes and making party foods. She learned that cooking was an “art.“ She started her first business selling decorated cakes to her mom’s co-workers and friends. Time passed and the young girl blossomed into a young woman who tried her hand at many other creative endeavors.

Overtime she found a new love in one such creative endeavor, soap making (but that‘s another story). After many years of making cold process soap her creative spirit grew restless. She began to yearn for new, innovative techniques and products without sacrificing the quality she had grown accustom to appreciate from super fatted cold process bar soaps.

She learned to make “alcohol-free” liquid soap and whipped soaps. They were both exciting. But her creative spirit began to bloom again when she rediscovered hand milling cold process soaps. She had tried it before but didn’t really “get it.” But this time it was different. She discovered the hand milling process allowed her much more creativity.

Then one day while watching a Food Network show, it came, her creative muse, had returned. She pulled out her old cake decorating tips, never one to throw anything away and the rest is history. D’ Alchemy Diva’s creativity talents had come full circle--creative synergy. She had finally found her niche. Now, she watches the Food Network Channel and makes “calorie-free” skin treats that mimic her favorite desserts.

Her creative muse, D’Alchemy Diva, had come home, so now…she sells her *☺Calorie Free Decadence☺* in a lil Etsy Shop on the web.

I love this hand painted glass! I am especially impressed by the lit up photos. The hand painted glass candle holders look so calming and inviting.

"I love, love (did I mention *love*?) anything and everything involving art. I grew up doing traditional-type drawings using pen, pencil, or even pastels. When I would get to be a particularly pesky child my mom would send me outside to draw something. Oh, and draw I did. And not just draw, but CREATE. I once tried to make my own tree house using a pile of twigs and pocket knife. Let's just say it didn't go well. Anyway, I digress."

Also, maybe this comes from growing up in the rural-esque life, but I like art that has some kind of practical function. Reparapy is a collective of three artisans, each bringing a slightly different talent and perspective to our designs.

Each of us is an alumnus of Architecture School, two of us having gone to the University of Texas and one to the University of Nebraska. Look What I Won From Love and Lust!

I was the lucky winner of the Love and Lust Blog Giveaway!

Love and Lust is one of my favorite jewelry shops on Etsy, so you can imagine how excited I was to win this beautiful set from her. I recieved the Gaia Earrings and the matching Gaia Necklace in pink, my favorite color. I can't wait to wear them and show them off!

I have been saying that I would love to have some business cards from her shop so that I can hand them out to admirers. I get lots of compliments and inquiries when I wear her pieces out in public, but most people haven't heard of Etsy...

I've been tempted to make my own cards, with her store address, just so that I can hand them out.

Her items are just so original and unique, everyone should own at least one. I know you'll agree when you check out her store. :)

I got her business cards though, Yay! (Thank you Love and Lust!) She sent me a few cards and now I can hand these out, I can't wait! Look at her handmade cards, I love the personal touch. It means a lot to me, as well as others, when a seller puts so much thought and devotion into every aspect of their store. Down to the most minute detail, such as packaging and yes, business cards.

The Alchemy Speculum necklace is amazing, you really should take a look in his store to see better photos! I love all the ways that this piece can be taken. Hatred for Self Image is what pops into my mind first. How about you? I'd be interested in hearing about what this piece means to you..?

Fatboydesign has great jewelry, and I absolutely love that he can sew, knit, crochet, and make beautifully wearable art!

I guess my talent was discovered a couple years ago around Christmas when my wife and I were looking for a better gift idea for friends. I just decided that I'd try my hand at making them some jewelry, and the rest is history. In terms of my sewing...my grandpa was a tailor his whole life and used to teach me how to sew on his old Singer treadle machine, so for my birthday last year I finally went out and bought a machine. The knitting on the other hand...that was just one of those things I went out and just wanted to learn.

The most important influence in my work is probably my mom. She was always very encouraging when I was younger when it came to arts and crafts. She always let me have that creative outlet and never pushed me into doing anything that I didn't want to do. Other than her, really the world is my inspiration. I try to just look around at everything and see what comes to me. A lot of my work really depicts who I am. I try to keep with style that will appeal to everyone, but at the same time I tend to throw in at least one little slightly out of place thing that keeps with my signature style.

It's hard to choose just one favorite piece that I've done, but if I had to choose I would have to say the Alchemy Speculum necklace.

I'm a big fan of gothic style, and the double imagery of the pendant has a beautiful yet chilling side to it.

Most of my work is done just sitting around in front of the TV with my wife and dogs. I've never been the type of person who could concentrate in quiet environments. The most creative moments usually come later at night. With my regular job I'm used to being up all night so that's usually when the most ideas come to me.

All of my work speaks to me in some way or another, but the most important thing to me is that people just appreciate what I do.

I've found that there are some pros to being a male artist. Mostly because people can't believe that I'm the one that made the pieces. They immediately look to my wife and she has to tell them that I'm the one who made it.

I don't really think that I should be promoted for being a male artist. I tend to care more about what the pieces look like and the quality of them over who actually made them.

Most of my self-promotion is done through word of mouth. I've done a little advertising on craigslist, but I usually let my work spur conversation and then just pass out a business card. Some of my work is seen on the morning show that I direct. My morning anchor has quite a few pieces that she wears on the show, so that has helped a little. The biggest thing is that I've been in TV for almost 10 years, so I have a lot of friends around the country that help to spread the word as well.

I had to choose 3 designs from this artist because I couldn't just choose 2, he has 'hand drawn wearable art'. Very original, and I just love the idea of wearing something that a person put this much thought and creativity into. Creativity, completely from scratch. I love all these picks that I am showing, but the graffiti name is..awesome! I imagine a teenage boy in baggy pants and a back pack over one shoulder when I look at this. Don't know why it's that particular image, lol.

I haven't run this by the artist, but wouldn't it be wonderful to make a unique necklace using a drawing that your child made for you? I know I'd wear it everyday! ~Something to think about for Mothers/Fathers Day.. hmmm..

He does accept custom orders after all.

How and when did you discover your talent?I've always been arty since i was about four or five years old and as far back as i can remember i really wanted to be an artist when i grew up. I studied art in school then went on to college to further study art. In my infinite youth wisdom i decide NOT to go away to university and that i would be better off staying local so i could still see my friends then i got stuck in the nine to five job cycle in my late teens and i really didn't do much art after that for about seven years.
What or Who do you think is the most important influence in your work?Well that's got to be my beautiful wife, Belinda. It was because of her that i got back into art about three years ago and started drawing and painting again. Belinda got me hooked on Etsy a few weeks ago after months of trying to convince me (nagging! lol) that people would want to see or even buy my work. The jewellery was just an interesting angle we came up with together.
Does any of your art have a deeper meaning? Erm... I'd love to say yes but most of my designs are just ideas that pop into my head in the most random of places and situations. I'm still getting used to designing and making jewellery so I'm sure that as my style evolves my pieces will become more meaningful and special to me and hopefully to anyone who buys them.
What is your favorite piece and why?I think all my pieces are fun but if i had to choose a fave it would probably be this one .
What does your art say to you and how do you hope it is interpreted by others?Fun, Fun, Fun! I just want people to see my work as fun. If my work can make someone smile then that will do for me.
Have you found any pros or cons to being a male artist? Or does it even matter?As a new shop i haven't really noticed.
What do you do to promote yourself?I have a blog and i tweet on twitter and my wife has just introduced me to Etsy chat and forums.
